Lokale und datenschutzfreundliche Terrarienverwaltung
This document defines the responsibilities of TerraManager documentation.
The end-user documentation consists of:
/ and /en/ — public homepage/guide/ and /guide/en/ — visual user guidesguide/TerraManager-Handbuch.pdf — German downloadable manualguide/TerraManager-User-Manual.pdf — English downloadable manualThe visual guides and manuals must describe the same current workflows but do
not need to duplicate each other word for word.
The localized guide entry pages are guide/index.md and guide/en/index.md;
both use _layouts/guide.html and _data/guide.yml. Do not add a second
guide/index.html with the same output path.
installation-and-updates.md is the canonical source for:
Other documents should link to it instead of repeating these procedures.
release-checklist.md is the canonical release checklist.
Release-specific validation steps should not be duplicated in development, project or platform documentation.
development.md covers:
Toolchain-specific requirements are maintained in toolchain-baseline.md.
The authoritative technical documents are:
architecture-decisions.md — architectural decisions and their rationaledata-model.md — current database model and schema historybackup-format.md — portable backup format and restore rulesplatform-support.md — platform validation status and platform limitationsandroid-release-signing.md — Android production signing procedureproject-documentation.md provides a technical project overview and links to
the authoritative documents above.
It should not duplicate complete specifications maintained elsewhere.
Repository-root documents remain authoritative for:
PRIVACY.mdPRIVACY.de.mdSUPPORT.mdSECURITY.mdCONTRIBUTING.mdLICENSEWhen either root privacy policy changes, update the corresponding public page
in privacy/index.md or privacy/de/index.md with the same document body and
preserve its Jekyll front matter. The privacy synchronization test checks both
languages.
CHANGELOG.md records published changes.
roadmap.md records milestone and future-work planning.
Neither should be treated as the authoritative current technical specification.
Review screenshots and guides whenever a release changes:
Replace screenshots when the current image could mislead users.
Minor cosmetic changes do not automatically require replacement.
Screenshots must not contain private user data.
Keep filenames stable where practical to avoid broken references.
Keep the German and English Store descriptions, screenshots and editable sources together with the Android version they describe. The assets may be handed over in a separate Store package; this repository’s release documentation must remain usable without that package being checked into the source tree.
Prepared Store packages contain title, short-description and full-description
text files in listing/de-DE/ and listing/en-US/, with the corresponding
numbered phone PNGs and localized alt text in screenshots/de/ and
screenshots/en/. Review the descriptions alongside the screenshots, using
the package’s review.html or contact sheet. Upload the individual phone PNGs
in their numbered order.
Use demonstration collections and images without private user data. Preserve editable captions, original captures and image sources so the assets can be refreshed after interface changes. Feature claims must match the Android build being distributed, including the distinction between standalone collections and separately hosted Shared Care with manual backup transfer.
Before upload, recheck the current official Play Console text and image requirements. Coordinate the Store changes with the matching Android release. Verify the voluntary Settings link and browser fallback using the signed candidate on a physical phone; closed-test listing access requires an eligible tester account. Store publication remains a release-owner action.
When a documented workflow changes:
Use relative repository links for repository documentation.
Use Jekyll relative_url or absolute_url filters for GitHub Pages content.
Remove links to retired release-specific documents instead of leaving redirect chains inside the repository.
Documentation review is part of the release process.
